We recently became aware of a SCAM using Bank of Franklin County's name and transit routing number. If you have received a check with a letter about a lottery or sweepstakes winnings, or an employment opportunity etc., and you are informed you will need to send money by WESTERN UNION or MONEYGRAM in order to receive your winnings, you have probably received the SCAM letter. Do not deposit or cash this check. It is not valid. We recommend you report the incident to both the local authorities and the postal service.
